Carbon monitoring for London organisations

CarbonMeter measures energy at individual machines, circuits and buildings, and turns it into auditable Scope 1 and 2 carbon accounting and compliance reporting. We are a UK team based at Green Park, Reading, working with organisations across London.

Measured in London

Our first industrial deployment: Wembley, north-west London

In May 2026 we began a three-month pilot at a stone and marble processor in Wembley, instrumenting three CNC cutting machines under a signed site agreement. Readings arrived roughly every 30 seconds per machine, carbon was calculated on both a DEFRA location-based and a half-hourly grid-intensity basis, and the platform surfaced energy used outside operating hours — the pattern we have found at every site measured to date.

Who we work with in London

Manufacturing and industrial units

Per-machine energy and carbon on production floors and industrial estates across north and west London.

Warehouses and logistics

Refrigeration, lighting and handling equipment measured separately — out-of-hours load made visible.

Offices and commercial buildings

HVAC, lighting and plug loads by circuit, so schedule drift and empty-building consumption show up per system.

Public-sector and education estates

Measured progress against net-zero commitments, building by building, for organisations that answer to the public.

Questions from London buyers

Does CarbonMeter work with organisations in London?

Yes. CarbonMeter is based at Green Park, Reading, west of London, and serves organisations across London and the rest of the UK. Our first industrial pilot was in Wembley, north-west London, where we instrumented three CNC cutting machines at a stone and marble processor.

Which carbon regulations apply to London businesses?

The UK-wide schemes: Streamlined Energy and Carbon Reporting (SECR) for large companies; the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), whose Phase 4 compliance date is 5 December 2027; the UK Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism from 1 January 2027 for imports of aluminium, cement, fertiliser, hydrogen, iron and steel; and Carbon Reduction Plans for suppliers bidding for major central government contracts. London organisations also operate against the Mayor of London's target for the city to reach net zero by 2030, which shapes public-sector procurement and landlord expectations.

Which types of London organisation is CarbonMeter suited to?

Any organisation where energy use is significant and a single site total hides the cause: manufacturers and industrial units, warehouses and cold storage, offices and mixed-use buildings, hotels, data rooms and public-sector estates. The platform models sites, assets and circuits rather than one sector's processes.

How quickly can you get started at a London site?

A first baseline can start from data you already hold — meter readings or building management system exports — without a site visit. Where more detail is needed, CarbonMeter nodes are typically installed in about a day, non-invasively, with no outage and no change to your operations.

How much does it cost?

Subscriptions start from £500 per month, priced by the number of sites and monitored assets. We also run pilots on a subset of assets so you can see what measurement finds before committing.

Can you manage several London sites together?

Yes. Multi-site estates are managed centrally, with every site measured on the same basis so you can benchmark sites against each other and produce one estate-wide report.

Who owns our data, and how is it protected?

You own your raw data under our site agreements, and you can export all of it in a standard machine-readable format. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and personal data is handled under UK GDPR.
